Trip Summary & Home-coming

I arrived in Addis Abba last night from Bujumbura in Burundi, on my way back to Lagos after 10 amazing days in East Africa. As our son turns 3 this weekend, it is important that I cut short my trip after a failed attempt to conclude the trip with the disciples in Ethiopia due to visa issues.

Amazing that God has protected me throughout thanks to the prayers of many. I have tested negative throughout – for the fourth time.

Whereas Kampala was a deepening and faithbuilding visit, my time in Burundi was full of new discoveries and profound encouragement. Like in Kampala, I also made new friends and as the Akellos saw me off at the airport yesterday, there was a sense that we had been mutually refreshed by the four days spent serving the needy, encouraging one another in fellowship, in prayer and in the Word.

One of my Take-Aways is the need to be deliberate in planning such visits, especially to encourage disciples in churches and countries that rarely get visits. There are amazing treasures awaiting us as we take out time to go on creative missionary visits. The second aspect is the need to raise funds to support the amazing ongoing work to increase the percentage of children who can have access to education in Burundi.

I pray you will enjoy the videos capturing some of the highlights of this Spirit-led Journey.

In about 3 weeks, I will be embarking on my next trip after taking care of the home front. Thanks for all the prayers that have accompanied me on this trip.
