Greetings from Luanda, Angola

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life. (Proverbs 13:12)

The above Scripture truly describes my experience with this trip to be with the church in Luanda, Angola.

In 2017, I met a faithful group of disciples from Luanda, Angola who had traveled by air and by road to Pointe Noire, Congo for a conference of disciples in Central Africa.
Their joyful hearts and mouths full of God’s praises planted a dream in my heart to visit our sister church in Luanda and it has taken six years for the desire to be fulfilled.
I made an attempt in 2022 but it was thwarted by some mix-up with the wrong type of visa which was issued by the Angolan Embassy in Nigeria.
It took a lot of effort to finally get the right visa to make this trip – time, resources, and some good dose of patience.

When I arrived last Friday and met a faithful group awaiting and bidding me welcome outside the Luanda Airport, it made every effort worth the trouble.

This weekend has been memorable – spent in fellowship, in meals, in singing praises, in sharing from the Scriptures, and answering all kinds of questions. Their hungry and eager hearts will gladden the heart of any Bible teacher.

Please pray that God continues to move throughout the rest of my stay here.

Olá, de Luanda, Angola.
