PREPARING FOR MY NEXT TRIP

PREPARING FOR MY NEXT TRIP

The past two months have been such a blessing in terms of staying on ground in Lagos – quality time with family, deep times of study, reflection and prayer.

The book of Colossians has been an incredible source of spiritual nourishment and encouragement to my soul as I have continued studying it after the World Discipleship Summit in Orlando. I have been listening to amazing recorded lessons from the conference on diverse topics like spiritual maturity, Christ-centered preaching, the importance of rest, etc.

Paul’s prison epistles have become an incredible source of inspiration in my walk with Christ and his letter to the Colossians is incredibly Christ-centric in nature.

I am grateful for the time to recharge my spiritual battery while serving the local Lagos Church at large and two of its Regions, pursuing a series for Professionals (https://youtu.be/oB18pTvgH2U), having monthly meetings with a teaching initiative group etc.

My next teaching trip is loading and this time to Southern Africa. In addition to Johannesburg and Soweto, this trip will also take me to two smaller churches in Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) and Umthatha. From South Africa, I will continue to Portuguese-speaking Angola for my first ever visit to strengthen the Church in Luanda, the capital city. https://gilbertkimeng.com/events/

My connection with the churches in Southern Africa has grown in the past 4 years through great friendships with teachers, evangelists and members of these congregations. This trip is a testament to the fact that we are truly called to be partners in the spread of and maturity from the Gospel. (Phil 1:4-5).

Please pray for God to use this trip to achieve His eternal purposes for His church as I share a range of different topics in line with the spiritual needs of these congregations. (Col. 4:3-4.)

On my return from Southern Africa, I will spend barely a month at home before heading out to French-speaking Burkina Faso via Togo for the last teaching trip of this year.

All these will not be possible without those who have faithfully supported this effort throughout this challenging year! I pray God rewards every one of you and also expands the support base.

To God Be the Glory!
